Brisbane Home Energy Upgrade

Building upon an existing 13.28kW system installed in August 2023, Gardel Electrical & Solar designed and implemented a strategic expansion to meet the homeowner’s growing energy needs.

Enhanced Capacity:

• Additional panels: 30 high-performance Trina Vertex S+ 440W black frame N-type, dual glass panels were added, increasing the overall system size to a significant 26.48 kW.
• Three-phase expansion: A 10kW Sungrow three-phase inverter seamlessly integrated with the existing Sungrow hybrid inverter, providing a scalable three-phase power solution.

Energy Storage & Savings:

• Battery integration: A Sungrow SBR256 25.6kWh modular battery was installed, allowing the family to store excess solar energy for self-consumption during peak usage times.
• Smart monitoring: A Sungrow three-phase smart energy meter with self-consumption monitoring provides valuable insights into energy production and usage patterns.

Project Highlights:

• Custom design: Commercial manager, Aiden Caddies, meticulously assessed the homeowner’s specific needs and designed a system to optimise energy production and savings.
• Phased upgrade: The project cleverly built upon the existing system infrastructure, minimising disruption and maximising cost-effectiveness.
• Environmental impact: The upgraded system is estimated to generate over 15,478 kWh annually, translating to a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (equivalent to planting 843 trees).
• Financial benefits: The combined solar generation and battery storage are expected to deliver annual savings of around $5,385, including feed-in credits.
