TIACS Foundation supported by Gardel Electrical & Solar

TIACS Foundation

TIACS (This Is A Conversation Starter) Foundation was created by TradeMutt, a social enterprise workwear company. This Foundation aims to tackle the lack of understanding around mental health in Australia, particularly among young men and blue-collar workers. TradeMutt workwear is designed to drive conversations around mental health and TIACS provides a solution for anyone seeking help.

The Gardel Electrical & Solar team support TIACS Foundation and TradeMutt by regularly wearing their workwear and actively instigating positive conversations. Our Managing Director, Sam Gardel, also supports the cause by hosting a catch up every month. This offers a space where guys in the community can come together and have meaningful conversations. Across the years we’ve held various fundraisers for TIACS, raising thousands of dollars for this important cause.

Yeronga Devils Junior AFC

The Yeronga Devils is one of the oldest Australian football clubs in Brisbane, and the junior football program, sponsored by Gardel Electrical & Solar, prepares young footballers both physically and mentally for senior football and their journey through life. Providing a safe and supportive environment, the club values fair play, teamwork and team spirit. The club’s playing grounds, Leyshon Park, is the home of AFL Queensland, and is the grand final and training venue for many competitions, clinics and school clubs around Brisbane.

Supporting the local community is incredibly important to Sam, especially community groups that use sport to connect, build a sense of belonging and provide a healthy physical outlet for children.

Brisbane Bulldogs Police Rugby League

The Brisbane Bulldogs Police Rugby League team promote and encourage a healthy, active and balanced lifestyle. Through the great game of rugby league, the players – serving police officers – enhance engagement between the Queensland Police Service and the communities they serve.

Having been a rugby player himself, managing director Sam has seen the positive outcomes resulting from team sports – healthy minds, bodies, shared experiences and lifelong friendships. In 2023 & 2024, Gardel Electrical & Solar has proudly sponsored the team’s participation in the QPSRLA State Championships – a time for all the Queensland police teams to come together and compete for the state title. Its Time Foundation

Many island schools struggle with no electricity supply, or rely on dirty diesel generators that they can barely afford to run a couple of hours per day. Because of this, the kids have little or no chance of a modern education. Its Time Foundation provides clean, free energy for lighting and computers which utterly transforms the education and prospects for these kids.

In 2015, our managing director, Sam, worked with Its Time Foundation to visit Samabula Primary School in Fiji and install a full Solar PV system. This school has 37 students and 3 teachers. The system we installed has saved the school over $3,200 every year! Since 2015, Gardel Electrical & Solar has continued to be a regular donator and supporter of Its Time Foundation and its many life-changing projects.

Gardel Electrical & Solar is proud to assist the Norfolk Island Fishing Association’s rebuilding efforts for their fishing hut rebuild. In 2023, the hut across on the neighbouring Phillip Island was destroyed by Tropical Cyclone Gabrielle.

The Fishing Association protects local fish, fishing grounds and the marine life around Norfolk Island for commercial and recreational fishing. Along with promoting safety at sea, the Association provides a welcoming community for local and tourist sports fishing.

Thanks to the community, it’s been fully rebuilt, and the Gardel team are proud to have donated and installed a solar PV system to bring renewable energy to the hut.

Superstars Dance

Celebrating personal potential, SUPERSTARS encourages enthusiasm, participation and belief in self.

Velocity All-Stars

The Velocity All Stars stands as Brisbane’s premier development clinic, breaking down financial barriers linked to junior sports. Providing a cost-free and all-inclusive community-focused program, VAS provides children with an open avenue to participate in off-season sports.

Gardel Electrical & Solar are proud to support VAS from 2023, by providing funds and equipment to bring the carnival to fruition. As the largest development clinic of its kind in Brisbane, the program includes current and retired professional coaches and athletes to attend as guest coaches, and over 20% of recent participants have made district and representative teams.

By providing children with a free, high level of developmental coaching and community support, the children and their families can engage in a brighter future of athletes.
