In this situation, it is quite likely that the sales company will be paying subcontractors very little to do your installation. This often leads to a rushed job and very dodgy install, that can have major repercussions in the future.
The other outcome is that it’s a very small operation that likely operates at the complete bottom dollar. Due to the competitive nature of the market, these companies are unlikely to survive long term. This means they won’t be around to honour any warranties or follow-ups in the future, costing you even more in the long run.

When looking to go solar, use a company that:
has a physical address that you can visit if you want to,
has sign written vehicles printed with their company name,
has a valid electrical contractors licence,
has been registered under the same ABN for multiple years,
has multiple employees and apprentices, and
supports the local community and sporting clubs.
Generally, if a company ticks all of these boxes then you can feel safe knowing they are likely going to do right by their customers. Using an online sales machine that doesn’t meet any of the points mentioned above, could lead to you being ripped off.
